This book is about a girl who"s mother wants her to be a model. The catch is that Deenie {the girl} doesn't want to really be a model. The gym teacher realized that Deenie's hips where uneven so she sent them to a doctor that sent them to other doctors. it ended up that she has Scoliosis which is when the spine is curved in a "C" shape or in a "S"shape. The doctor said that she had to wear a brace and the brace caused her to have to wear cloths that are 2 sizes bigger and that she has the wear it for to 4 years. The brace caused holes to get in her cloths. She thought that is was the end of her life but in the end she made news friends and kept the old ones.

Deenie is about a 13 yaer pld girl who her mom want her to be a model.Then Deenie dispvers she has scolosis and has to brace her self every single day untile she turns 17.the brace ruins her life she have to buy new cothes wich the brace rips her new clothes and everyone can see it.

Deenie is about a 13 year-old girl whose mom wants her to be a model. Then Deenie discovers she has scoliosis and has to a brace EVERY SINGLE DAY until she turns 17. The brace ‘ruins’ her life, she has to buy new clothes, which the brace rips, and everyone can see it. Eventually she makes friends with a girl who has a skin condition called eczema. I really liked the middle of this book but, I didn’t like the ending. If you like the Alice books or the Ramona books you would DEFINITLY like Deenie.

It's a really good book, but also kind of depressing. It's very sad that Deenie cannot rely on her mother.
