This is cool, but are you saying you're really going to use ANTS to sniff out drugs and explosives instead of DOGS? Why would you want to do that? I have no idea why you think you ants surpass dogs. Sure, ants take a shorter time to train, and I guess their detection abilities are the same, but dogs are better overall. Dogs live longer, and you can actually see dogs from a distance. Let's say theres a bomb and you don't know where. "OH I KNOW, I'm just going to bring my trained ants to detect where the bomb is. Ok little ants, go ahead. FIND THE BOMB. This is such a good idea. Using ants to find bombs. I'm going to be in the news. Oh snap where did my ants go? Oh dang I lost them. Jeez. OH NO. I stepped on them. NO MY BOMB DETECTING ANTS."
I also went through the harsh week without power or water, and also had a fireplace. My family was very lucky. Our fireplace was also vented so the carbon monoxide could escape. Other people fainted or died because the carbon monoxide didn't have anywhere to go, and it harmed them. It was rough.
Not to mention the people that didn't have a fireplace and no power or running water. The streets and highways were covered in ice and so going anywhere wasn't an option most of the time. Anybody that had frozen food in their freezer or food in their fridge would've been better off putting it all outside to stay cold.
