To Jessica, every rhythmic step of the feet is the pulse of her heart. When she runs, she is stronger than the pain gasping up and down her lungs. She is unstoppable. She is free. Then one day, a driver torpedoes his truck into her life, shattering the bones in her left leg beyond repair. Just like that, it was her finish line. She would never run again- or so she thought. A compelling, spunky, and heart-wrenching novel, “The Running Dream” by Wendelin Van Draanen is the inspiring story of a girl who is struck by tragedy. She must face school, depression, and new hardships along with her new “atrocity”. As she must struggle forward, she meets Rosa, a girl with celebral pansy and has never run or walked in her life. She learns that people with “disabilities” just want people to see them for who they are, not their shortcomings. I would give it 5 shining stars- I felt Jessica beating in my heart. I could somehow relate to her- it’s an experience that could happen to anyone, after all.

This book seems like a combination of everything I like. I love to do fencing and sword fighting reminds me of my favorite sport. Action and adventure is my favorite genre and I've always wanted to read samurai books! For a few months, I wasn't able to read anything but classic books such as Oliver Twist and Tom Sawyer, so Momotaro Xander and the Lost Island of Monsters would be like a fresh breeze. Also, I heard that Margaret Dilloway had already written a bunch of kindle books about Japanese culture, so the samurai element in this book is bound to be phenomenal. I haven't written a review on DOGO for a long time and this would be a great book to enjoy and review!

I would love to read this book! It seems like the combination of everything I like- action, magic, and adventure. Not to mention the main character is holding up a sword on the cover! I do fencing, and swords tend to remind me of my favorite sport. I haven't read anything but classic books such as Oliver Twist and Tom Sawyer for a long time, so a read like this would be like a fresh breeze. I haven't posted any reviews on DOGO books for a while now, so I'd love to start off like this!

I WANT THIS BOOK! It looks amazing and I'm thirteen so I think I'll be able to really connect to the characters. Plus, Narnia is awesome
