This story is about a girl called Stargirl, who goes to Mica High. She was homeschooled before she came to Mica High, so she doesn't know what it is like to be a "normal" high school girl. So she plays the ukulele during lunch and plays with her pet rat, Cinnamon. The narrator of this book is called Leo Borlock, who is a normal 11th grader. Throughout the book, his relationship with Stargirl become closer and closer. But since everyone thinks Stargirl is weird, Leo and Stargirl runs into a problem where everyone in Mica High ignores them. I could sometimes relate to this, because sometimes when people speak different languages around me, I feel ignored and can't communicate. My favorite part of the book was when Stargirl and Leo goes to the enchanted place. I think the author describes the enchanted place very well, because when I read the book, I felt like I was really in the enchanted place. I would recommend this book to people who like realistic stories and people who like to read things that they can relate to in their life. I think this was a pretty good book, and a book that everyone can relate to.Over 8 years agomomokos added a book review.
I think this story was a pretty interesting story. The main character of this story is Stargirl, and the narrator is Leo Borlock, a normal boy in 11th grade. Stargirl came to Mica High, but before that, she was homeschooled. She don't know what it is like to spend time in high school and act "normal." Leo is just a normal boy who thinks Stargirl is weird. But their relationship become closer and closer throughout the story. My favorite character was Archie, the paleontologist who teaches at universities. I like how he is very obsessed with bones and fossils. Also, he understands Stargirl a lot, so he can give advice to Leo. There were a lot of realistic events and situations that I could relate to. For example, Leo wants to be normal, like everyone else. He also wants Stargirl to be normal. I can relate to that because sometimes, I feel like being normal is the right thing and I shouldn't act too crazy or weird. In my opinion, I think this book was a pretty good book. I like how the author describes clearly about Stargirl's enchanted places, because the description was so vivid that I could imagine the scene very clearly. But I wish the author talks more about Hillari and Wayne Parr, because it might have been interesting to see more conflicts between Stargirl and Hillari.Over 8 years agomomokos's book review was featured in Stargirl.
