This is one of the best books I've ever read in my past 10 years of living, my teacher showed me this and I thought wow this author knows how to describe what the characters emotions are, and how the character is feeling while something really important is happening, all those little details. Like when shes running, you make her feel alive. or when she's being quiet you make her feel cautious, care, AND sneaky all at the same time! keep writing and good luck!

I Personally love how you didn't just give the way and absolutely love the details! you don't just put all her features in one sentence you break it up, also you didn't just go ahead and told what she likes, like you didn't just put "Oh, I like horses and love to ride them." you put it in the characters words, and lets not forget, I love how you make them talk instead of saying "Don't" they say "ain't" I love this book! an absolute five star rating

mabumaxavusila's book review was featured in Esperanza Rising.
this was a class read aloud and I got so attached, I highly recommend this amazing peace of art, this gets you sucked in only at page one. On top of that so many things builds up at once! When papa dies, everything changes, not just for Esperanza but for Miguel, Ramona, Hortensia, Alfonso. Its so sad on what happens this deserves a five star rating for making me and thousands of other readers feel so many emotions for all the characters, keep pursuing your work as an author you have really nice talent maybe someday I can write just like you!
