Have you ever felt different or worried about the way you look? If so you would understand what Robert Hoge the main character in the book Ugly a story by Robert Hoge feels like and goes through everyday. The book Ugly takes place in Australia in the year 1986. Robert Hoge was born with a squashed nose, his eyes were on the side of his head, and his legs were different sizes. The first conflict is that because of Roberts disability he can’t play the sports that he wants to. The second conflict is that because of how Robert looks the other kids at his school make fun of him and call him really mean nicknames that hurt his feelings. The protagonist is Robert because he overcoming his disability and trying to be like the other kids at his school. The antagonist is Roberts disability because his disability stops him from playing sports and riding a bike that he really wants to do. The turning point is at the end when Robert finally finds a sport that makes Robert feel like he is finally a part of a team which was his lifelong dream. Have you ever had to choose between two different boys? Well in the book The Selection by Kiera Cass this is exactly what 16 year old America Singer (protagonist) has to do. When America is chosen to compete with other girls in the Selection for the hand of the Prince, she has to decide whether or not to stay with her boyfriend or go to the palace. When she gets there she meets a girl named Celeste (antagonist) who will do anything to win even sabotage other people (first conflict). When girls are starting to go home, her ex boyfriend gets a new job which makes her feelings for the Prince and her ex boyfriend go wild (second conflict). But when the Prince asks her on a real date she has to decide who she chooses. Who will America choose, read the book to find out. This book takes place in the kingdom of Illea. I would recommend this book to girls 7th grade through high school. Warning- this book has mature content and may be unsuitable for children under seventh grade.

Drama By Raina Telgemeier Do you know what it’s like to be in Drama and have a gay friend? Well, in this book a girl named Callie who is the protagonist joins drama but doesn’t be in the play she is stage management. She also has these friends that help her and she meet these twins. One of them loves theatre and the other isn’t as into it and is gay but his parents don’t know how they're gonna take it. The antagonist is that she wanted to be in the play except… SHE CAN’T SING! Anyways, The time is 2012 and it was mostly on stage or at school and home. 1 major conflict is she was nervous about the play because they only had a certain amount of money they were aloud to use like a budget and they couldn’t buy a lot of confetti for the 2 prop cannons and the bottles say full blast each time and they didn’t get the full blast they wanted. Another major conflict is she wants to help her friends and she tries to get her gay friend a boyfriend. A interesting fact I got is she has many friends except she isn’t popular quite yet. Another fact is she tries to fix the prop canons and wants them to be perfect. My 3rd fact is She has her friends help in getting the play perfect her gay friend helps but doesn’t want to be in it and hi brother does. My 4th fact is Callie’s brother snoops her phone over her head and reads who she was texting and it was a boy and he said “ Who’s your BF” but she doesn’t have one. My last fact is She tries to sing but she can’t, When she was younger she went to see a play she’s wanted to be in a play but she can’t sing so she is the backstage manager which is the next closest thing to perform. In conclusion anybody should read this it is a great book but you should atleast be 11 and up because their are some mature scenes in this book I hope everyone could read this book someday.
