ellsworth2424's book review was featured in The Great Shelby Holmes.
John Watson is new to New York City. After years of moving around from army base to army base, his mom promises this is now home. But, if the first person he meets in the apartment building is anything like the rest of NY's residents, he might be in trouble! Shelby Holmes is a feisty sixth grader, with no social skills and no apparent friends. But, she also appears to be a detective. Together, the two tackle a dognapping. Along the way, they discover a thing or two about each other and friendship along the way. This is a fun mystery that involves dogs, a pet shop, and even a dog show -- a must read for dog lovers!

ellsworth2424's book review was featured in The Scourge.
This book is about a deadly disease, called the Scourge, and a Colony, where people infected with the disease are taken to live. The main character, Ani Mells, is sent to live at the Colony, and soon her best friend, Weevil, arrives too. Once there, the two learn that the Colony may not be what it's supposed to be. Together, Ani and Weevil start to question the Scourge and those who run the Colony. It's an adventure-packed, thrilling story, with lots of twist and turns, which will keep you guessing and surprised. It covers topics like friendship, loyalty, and just doing what's right in life. This isn't my typical type of book, and it's a little longer than I usually read (about 350 pages), but I really liked The Scourge and would recommend it to other readers, both boys and girls.

This book takes place in the town of Little Spring Valley. The story revolves around Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle's niece, Missy, who is staying in the Upside-Down House while Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is away. In a house filled with animals, Missy helps colorful families in the community who need assistance with their children's ill behavior. It's a fun book, a quick read, and the characters and their situations made me laugh!

This is the first book I have not liked in a really long time. I thought the beginning was good, but I really disliked the second half of the book. It was disappointing.

This movie was much better than I expected. It tells the story of the pressures of school, learning who your true friends are, and more. It turns out I really liked this movie.
