It's crazy how space travel has changed so much from when the US sent Neil Armstrong on the moon.

bsc's book review was featured in The Penderwicks: A Summer Tale of Four Sisters, Two Rabbits, and a Very Interesting Boy.
Every summer, the Penderwicks usually vacation in the same place. But this summer is different, for they are vacationing in Arundel: a cool and new place. After being warned by a local about the dreaded Mrs. Tifton, the Penderwick sisters: Rosalind, Sky, Jane, and Batty, are worried about the unknown Mrs. Tifton. When the Penderwicks arrive at Arundel, it is a lovely and beautiful place with trees and meadows and a giant house. They soon meet Jeffery, a neighboring boy who they become great friends with. But Jeffery is actually Mrs. Tifton's son. Mrs. Tifton is as icy and mean as expected. Close encounters with Mrs. Tifton, two rabbits, and a whole lot of soccer and adventures are what the Penderwicks experience in one crazy summer. This book is sweet, funny, and loveable. Happy reading!

The Penderwicks are getting older and their lives are even more full than ever. Rosalind is now away at college and Batty, now 10 and Ben now 7 have been used to a lot of changes. For one, they have a new sister, Lydia. And for two, old Hound passed away. Batty is broken with grief and won't even go near another dog without being filled with sorrow. But that all changes when Batty discovers a new talent of hers: singing. Her voice is angelic and she is offered singing lessons. But money is tight in the Penderwick house. So Batty comes up with the idea of dog walking. She's great at it, it gives her money, and she can feel better with dogs. And Nick Geiger is finally coming back from war, yay! Join the Penderwicks for another adventure as they battle ups and downs, grief, music, and excitement. Happy reading!

bsc's book review was featured in Good Enough: A Novel.
Riley wishes she could go back in time. Back to when she didn't have this eating disorder, back when she would hang out with her friends, back to when she was on the track team and being "Running Riley". Unfortunately, Riley's in the present now and can't go back. Riley is now keeping all of her thoughts about a new and mysterious hospital for people like her with eating disorders in a journal. Riley wants to stay how she is though. She doesn't want to eat and she certainly doesn't want people telling her what to do. But after a while Riley realises that this place isn't too bad. Maybe they can help her recover again. Or maybe she'll just relapse when she gets released. Bit by bit, Riley starts recovering and learns the true meaning of "Pretty" no matter what she looks like. This book was strong, powerful, and important to read. The author explains what it is like to have an eating disorder and recovery in a strong and powerfully written way. This book is real, this book is important, and this book is a necessary read for anyone. Happy reading!
