The Book Thief is a story that I will carry forever. It is written from the point of view of Death about a young girl growing up in Nazi Germany. I appreciated this fresh POV because I've only ever read stories about this time period through the view of Jewish people. It helped expand my knowledge of this time period, all while tearing my heart to pieces with an emotional and powerful story where you will undoubtedly connect deeply with the characters.

Brave New World is a thought provoking book about a "utopian" society where everyone gets along and knows their place. It gives a skewed vision of savagery versus civilization, showing what happens when these two ideals confront each other, changing my philosophical, and even religious, views.

Ray Bradbury is the best writer I've ever encountered, and if you haven't read one of his books DO IT NOW! Farenheit 451 subtly examined and picked apart a plethora of ideas without seeming overwhelming, and I always felt emotionally engaged, even with subjects that otherwise might seem dry.

The magic behind John Greens books is that he can relate so well with teenage girls even though he is a middle aged nerdy male. All his books are so relatable that you don't want to put them down until there through. Making them short, but good reads.
