I definitely loved this book! So awesome! It's about these two main characters, June and Day. The setting is in a future U.S, only that it is not the U.S. but the country is broken in to half - the Republic (west of U.S.) and the Colonies (east of U.S.). Most of the people who lived in the Colonies tried to run away to the Republic because some parts of the Colonies land was just sinking into the ocean. The Republic blocked the Colonies side from them. The Republic also has some thing called the trials. This is the test that holds their future. They take it at age ten. They fail - they eventually die. They pass, they go to high schools, universities and gets really good jobs. June, is an only prodigy who got a perfect score of 1500 on the trials. At 15, she went to a university. She has an older brother, Metias, whom she really loves. Day, a boy, is the Republic's most wanted criminal. He is in a disguise when he does crime. He never killed someone. Day has an older brother, John, and a younger brother, Eden. He loves his family, although his mom and brother Eden does not know he is alive. Only John knows. Day stays with Tess, a girl 2 years younger than him. Day knows Eden is sick, so he goes to a hospital to steal medicine. He fails to get medicine, though. In the process of stealing medicine, he stabs a solider (Metias), But never kills hom. But June figures out Metias is dead. She vows to hunt the killer. As she does, she finds a boy that isn't suspicious (ha, only because she likes him). Then she figures out- it's Day. (I revealed like 1/4 of the book. You will not want to put down this book once you start. Legend tells a story about a thief and the person trying to catch the thief. It is interesting how both sides tell much different stories. I would totally recommend this book for anybody older than 11 who like violence. I can't wait to read the second book!About 9 years agobygflowerliked a comment in Legend (Legend Trilogy).
At first I was confused, until it hit me! You were seeing two different characters fight the same issue, but from both sides. Day and June were both inspiring in their own ways and showed us how to make an unlikely relationship work.About 9 years agobygflowerliked a comment in Legend (Legend Trilogy).
Legend is about a fifteen year old prodigy named June and a fifteen year old criminal legend named Day. Day and June come from two different ends of a futuristic version of Los Angeles. Day is from the poor "Lake" sector and June is from the rich "Ruby" sector. June and Day meet when Day is framed for June's brother's death. June makes an oath to find and kill Day even if it is the last thing she does. When June finds Day she learns that not everything about him is true, and she also learns life threatening news about their home. I would rate this book 5 stars. My favourite part was when June first met Day.About 9 years agobygflower added a movie review.
This is a really good film. As I entered the cinema, I couldn't believe it was a PG, but it is clearly aimed at a higher age than the books. It has an incredible plot, and stellar cast, but for older children.About 9 years agobygflower added a movie review.
This is the perfect feelgood movie treat!!! Even if the movie is not, storyline wise, the best in the world, it is made up for by being so happy... the songs make you wanna dance, and be in the movie! I watch this again and again, every new years eve, and even more often!About 9 years ago
