Hi :) I just needed to get my opinion out there, so, first-off, I want to apologize for possibly offending anyone with this comment, it was certainly not intentional.. But it's become a tradition that people are being victimized by RIDICULOUS beauty standards. Most people believe that it's just women who have fallen prey under these standards, but that's absolutely not true - men, women, children, and now, even dogs.. People are comparing themselves to around 0.5 percent of the population and trying unhealthily to match body standards they see on commercials or advertisements. It's not fair. I believe that we should celebrate our imperfections, because yes, EVERYONE has flaws. I know that you hear the whole "everyone makes mistakes" lecture a thousand times, and you're sick of it - especially when you discover a new flaw or make a new mistake. But the thing is, you'll make mistakes so many times in your life, you're just going to have to get used to it - and move on. Icky, one of the dogs mentioned in the article, raised over ten thousand for AIDS, which is amazing - Roux, a winner, went through a personal loss and even lost her eyesight, but these dogs stayed strong. The point I'm trying to make here is: We all have imperfections. But we shouldn't try to get rid of our imperfections - instead, we should embrace them and make the best of it. These dogs aren't being put into this competition for satire - instead, as the title indicates, they are being "celebrated" for their imperfections, and given a chance to feel like a winner, even though they might not be the best-looking dogs in the world. Thank you for reading this really long comment :)
